Admissions

We hope your child will join St Andrew's Church of England Primary School. Please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

Parents considering sending their child(ren) to our school are very welcome to contact the school office to arrange a visit to look around. Children are admitted to school each September at the beginning of the school year. All children, along with parents, are invited to spend time in school in June or July each year, prior to their beginning school in September. The admissions booklet provides information in regards to in-year admissions.

The intake for all classes is 30 (PAN). In the event of there being more than 30 children seeking a place in the Reception class, then priority will be given to:

  1. Looked after children or children with Education and Health Care Plan.

  2. Those with a sibling already at the school.

  3. Distance.

If you would like some more information, please read the Bury Local Authority Admissions Arrangements (attached booklet).

If we have not offered your child a place at your preferred school, you can appeal this decision.

You're entitled to submit an appeal of a school place decision and appeals are made to an independent appeals panel.

You can appeal for more than one school and there will be a separate hearing for each school you appeal for.
