Church of England Primary School

Harvest Festival

We celebrated Harvest in church on Friday, 14th October 2016.

Church was full for our annual Harvest Festival led by the children from Key Stage 1.

The theme for the service was "What a Wondeful World!" which linked to the topic that children in Years 1 and 2 are working on this half term. They sang and gave a presentation on how Harvest is celebrated around the world. They rounded this section off with a lively Harvest Samba complete with dancing fruit and vegetables! Thank you to our Key Stage 1 staff for their work in preparing this part of the service.

Each year we collect for a charity. This year's is Porch Boxes -  a local charity that operates a food bank. Children brought in bags of non-perishable goods which will be taken to the charity next week. The parish collected for Porch Boxes also in the Harvest service last Sunday. It is great that we can join forces for such an important cause.
