St Andrew's

Church of England Primary School

SATs take place in the week beginning Monday 9th May 2022.  We would ask that you do not book family holidays during this week. Y6 children will sit tests in Mathematics, Spelling, Punctuation & Grammar and Reading. These will be marked externally and the results sent back to schools by mid July. Children will be given a level for Writing based on Teacher assessments. All the details of the levels your child is working at in Y6 will be reported to you at the end of the school year as usual.

Finally, if you have any queries or concerns please feel free to contact me via the school email. The best times to contact me are before and after school.

The SATs are just a couple of tests to see what you have learnt during your time at primary school. Everybody in Year 6 in England will sit these tests at the same time. There will be a reading test, a grammar test, a spelling test, and then 3 maths tests (1 arithmetic and 2 reasoning) just like the tests we do at the end of every year - so it's nothing new! We will teach you how to get ready for these tests and answer any questions you might have!
